Purpose
The intent of this Invitation for Bid is to enter into an agreement with two (2) vendors to furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and supplies, to include project supervisors and qualified operators, needed to apply pavement markings and markers on an ???as needed basis??? as specified by the City Traffic Engineer, or his designee. All work shall be in accordance with all specifications, terms, and conditions herein. The work will be assigned to Contractor No. 1 (the lowest responsive and responsible bidder) for each project requested. In the event that Contractor No. 1 cannot perform the work in the time allotted, the City reserves the right to offer the job to Contractor No. 2 (the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder) for the prices quoted on their BID FORM.
Notes
The contract shall cover the period beginning October 1, 2014 and continuing through September 30, 2015. This contract may be renewed based on the terms and conditions at the expiration of its term at the sole discretion of the City. Automatic renewals will occur for up to two (2) additional one-year periods through September 30, 2017. Initial rates and subsequent renewal rates must be guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months. Any increase in rates shall be limited to the lesser of the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers (CPI-U) ??? Other Goods and Services (unadjusted for the current 12 month period) or 3%. The City does not guarantee any rate increase.
