The intent of this Invitation for Bid and resulting contract is to obtain the services of a qualified contractor to provide annual requirements of gasoline and fuel oil on an as needed basis at various locations within the City of Suffolk for both the City of Suffolk and Suffolk Public Schools in accordance with all specifications, terms and conditions herein. The locations where delivery will be required are contained in Section 7.0. Separate contracts for City of Suffolk and Suffolk Public Schools will be required.
Service shall be provided for the contract period beginning March 1, 2015 (or immediately upon execution of contract) and continuing through February 29, 2016, contingent upon continued acceptable response time, quality of work, and Contractor's management of project for cost control. The City of Suffolk/Suffolk Public Schools shall have the exclusive option to renew the contract for four (4) additional twelve-month periods through February 28, 2020. The City/Public Schools may terminate the contract for cause, but the City/Public Schools will document the nature of all complaints, and the Contractor will be given the opportunity to take corrective action. Failure to take corrective actions or excessive (in the sole opinion of the City/Public Schools) complaints will result in cancellation of the contract.
